Drawing Archive
Throughout RMIT Honours 2025, drawing has been an integral part of testing theories, particularly in the early stages of envisioning the project, as a narrative around women of a certain age. Initially, I would use drawing to see which ideas had “legs”. Then it became more of a vehicle for experimenting with capturing movement, temporality and affect in life drawing classes at RMIT. Drawing has also allowed me to familiarise myself with my body as a subject, tracing my body and parts of my body and then drawing from my image in a slightly distorting mirror kindly donated by my supervisor, Sarah Tomasetti. I have also used large rolls of paper to draw relationships between theories and chart a road map through my exegesis. This archive shows how useful drawing is as a creative practice and in planning and executing theories.
